GUANA ISLAND
Grand Central Station
This is probably the favorite dive of the Wanderlust crew. It is difficult to find and its' location is known to only a few local dive operators . There are several long underwater caverns that all converge into one large rocky bottomed grotto at a depth of 70 feet.. Hence the name "Grand Central Station". This is a dive for the advanced diver only, and only during calm sea conditions. The entrances to the caves are small and any surge can make entering hazardous. Once inside the entrances the interior caverns open up into a photographers delight. The cavern walls and rock formations create spectacular underwater scenes. There is an abundance of varied marine life and many juvenile species. On several occasions the crew have observed a large Jew fish concealing himself in a rocky abyss.
