Carrot Shoal
This dive site is in open water off the south west tip of Peter
Island. Because it is open to the ocean this site is noted for sightings
of large pelagics, but can only be dived in relatively calm weather.
The rock rises from a bottom of 65' almost to the surface. There
are rock overhangs and ledges providing shelter for a diversity
of fish. Large green morays and grey rays are plentiful on this
site.
Wreck of the Willy T and the Fearless
The William Thornton was originally a Baltic Trader used for chartering
in the sixties and seventies, was converted into a popular floating
bar and restaurant in the eighties was intentionally sunk here and
turned into a dive site.
The Fearless sits barely out of sight of the Willy T next to a
coral wall that is covered in huge black coral trees. The reef also
has a large population of colorful fish. The Fearless is 100 feet
long and she sits upright in the sand, she has a wooden hull which
is now being covered in tunicates and other encrusting marine life.
